First of all, I have been a bit MIA.
We have been doing a number of home projects lately
Last week our home looked like this...
Today, things are looking a lot better,
but there was still some construction going on during Trick or Treating
(the roofers didn't leave until long after dark). We went with a little lighter color on the roof and changed the shutter color from green to black.
Halloween just wasn't the same this year.
October 31st was miserably cold, windy and rainy,
it felt like a scene from the Wizard of Oz.
The city rescheduled trick or treating for Friday, November 1st instead.
Today's weather was the complete opposite of last night.
Other than the leaves all over the ground and
a few trees that had fallen from the storm,
a few trees that had fallen from the storm,
you couldn't tell how bad the weather had been yesterday.
It was actually a warm and beautiful day.
Last week our church had Trunk or Treat and a Halloween party
It was at a local school because our church building is currently under construction.
There is a lot of construction going on these days.
Liv brought a good friend along with us.
Little Red Riding Hood, A Southern Belle, and a Raccoon
(Sam was at a birthday party)
The little Clown joined in
Acting the part (while finishing his cheese sandwich)
Tonight, for the real trick or treating...
A very unhappy raccoon
(he suddenly decided that his costume looked stupid,
Mom had too much going on, so he was stuck with it)
His sidekick, Mr. Skunk...
(a.k.a. - sticky face)
And the Animal Control Officer
I love trick or treating in our neighborhood.
The neighbors sit outside on the front porch
The kids don't even knock on the door.
It feels like one big neighborhood party.
This year, Jer had the honor of handing out candy
while I walked the neighborhood with these party animals.
It's all about the suckers
A little candy made this boy very happy
We joined up with some friends from church.
It finally looks like fall,
though the temperatures were much more comfortable
These beautiful colors make me so happy
