The Rest of October

The week before Halloween, we decided to carve our pumpkins.  I severely underestimated how long it would take us to carve three pumpkins.  That was a late night (a school night as well).  Sam carved his pumpkin by himself this year.

All that time to carve the pumpkins, and then we left them on the kitchen floor.  We had heard that some of the neighbors had their pumpkins smashed, so I thought it would be smart to keep them inside for a day or two - which really wasn't so smart, I'm not sure what I was thinking.  We careved the pumpkins on Monday and on Wednesday, when we picked them up to take them outside, the bottom fell off of Nate's pumpkin and it was all moldy inside.  We had to throw all of the pumpkins away.  I felt so bad.  I didn't expect them to go bad so quickly.

As usual, my kids wore a different costume to each Halloween event we attended.  Sam started out as a secret agent, but ended up as an Indian.  He even made his own spear...

Olivia was a gypsy this year...

And Nate was an Elephant...again!
