Summer Vacation Begins

We started the summer off by celebrating at Hometown Pizza. 

Drew found the best seat in the house

(or maybe Sam found a creative way to keep him from running off again)

We enjoyed the unseasonably cool weather by picking strawberries

Sam found a perfect strawberry

And Drew just picked them all.

Sam and Olivia made strawberry jam afterwards.

Nate went to Cub Scout camp for the first time.

The theme this year was CSI

Cub Scout Investigators.

On family night, we were able to go and see all of the fun things

the Cub Scouts had been working on during the week

(with unlimited slushies).

I wouldn't be surprised if he spent the whole week in this spot.

By the end of the week, he was exhausted

and very happy!

 

Sam also went to Boy Scout camp

and came home very dirty.

I pulled up to pick him up at the church and I could smell those boys

on the other side of the parking lot.

Liv went to Girls Camp for the first time.

She ran into one of our favorite people there.

 

We also didn't start our garden until June.

We are trying something a little different this year,

we are going to try a tower garden.

We don't get a lot of sun in our backyard because of all of the trees,

Plus... this year, there will be no weeds :)

It's only been 2.5 weeks, and it has already grown so much.

And while all the kids were off to camp,

Drew and I had some fun at the park.
