1st Day of School

So school started last Wednesday, bright & early at 7:30 AM. It was Olivia's 1st day of Kindergarten. She was very hesitant when we went to back to school night and wouldn't go to bed until I promised I would go to school with her on the first day. I was planning to take her to school that morning and stay if necessary, but when she woke up, she suddenly wanted to ride the bus. I told her, however, that because it was her first day of Kindergarten, mom had to take her. Sam insisted on riding the bus though and we got to school before he did. I walked Livie to her class, helped her find her locker and hugged her goodbye and she was excited and ready to go. I was just excited to get home and have the peace and quiet time which I had been looking forward to for the past few weeks.
Sam (unhappy because he had to get his picture taken).

Livie begged me to take 20 pictures

Livie at her new school

Nate has always been such a good baby and still takes two naps. I was so looking forward to having two kids in school, one sleeping soundly and some time for myself. The first day was just that. On the second day of school, however, I put Nate down for a nap and came downstairs. 20 minutes later, I hear someone walking into the room. Startled, I turned around to see Nate standing there with an open bottle of lotion and white lotion all over his face and clothes. It appears he has learned to climb out of his crib and got into my bathroom. I am so sad, he has found his freedom and I have lost mine. The silver lining on this cloud, however, is that he will stay in his crib and fall asleep quickly if I sit in the room and don't look at him. I decided to use this opportunity to read the new Stephanie Meyers book - Breaking Dawn, which is what I really wanted to do while he was sleeping anyway.

Can I just say how adorable Olivia looks in the outfit! I can't believe she's old enough for school. Meg is starting kindergarten on the 25th. Oh how the times just flies away...
