Growing up, my Grammie (mom's mom) would plan fun tea parties/sleepovers for me and my cousins. It was usually me, my cousin Amy and my cousin Katie. As a child, my grandmother had lost a little sister, whom they had named Betty so that was always a special name for her. When we would come for sleepovers, we would dress up with shoes, jewelery and flowers in our hair and come to "Betty's Kitchen" for dinner and a tea party. Sometimes the menu consisted of personal pizzas or cereal served with ice cream instead of milk, other times it was mini sandwiches and finger food. I remember staying at her house for days at a time and all of the fun dress up clothes she had. These days, the kids don't get to spend the night, but "Betty's Kitchen" is still a special place. She sets a beautiful table with her special china and best place mats. The rules have changed a little for the great-grankids but there are still rules to abide by:
1. You must have a special tea party name.
2. You may only drink from your teacups if your pinkie finger is raised like a lady or gentleman.
3. Usually you must wear a fancy hat, however, Gramps has not been feeling so well lately, so when we came this last time, he did not have a chance to find special hats for the kids.
4. Kids have to pour their own chocolate milk (since we don't drink tea).

This day, we had stopped in for a short visit and had a simple "unofficial" tea party, but it was Nate's 1st time participating.
