The Surprise Tea Party & A Sad Parting

Our last day in Utah, we tried to do as much as possible. We stopped by to visit with Grammie one more time and she surprised the kids with a tea party. Because Grammie was getting ready to move and our time was short, we thought we weren't going to have one this year. The refreshments were great, and everyone used their best "tea party" manners.

The hardest part of this day, was knowing that my grandmother was going to be moving soon, and there would be no more tea parties for us in this home. Grammie always had the prettiest china, especially her pink china dishes that as we grew older, we were allowed to use when we had sleep overs and special dinners at her home. That day, as we were getting ready to leave, Grammie asked us to take a few special things that reminded us of her. That was really hard, to watch her start giving things away. Olivia chose some pretty dress-up items - a purse, gloves, dress, because she always spent a lot of time playing dress up at Grammie's house. Nate & Sam both chose toy animals that they loved to play with while they were there. It was so nice to spend time with Grammie, but it was kind of a hard day, knowing that next year when we see her, things will be so different.
